Last fall I hosted a few field notebook/nature journal workshops and attendees were interested in creating a club. I am sorry for the long delay, but I am ready to host nature journal meet up as an official meeting of the Cross Timbers Nature Journal Club! We have a converted meeting space at our office and the room can accomodate a few more people.
The format for our first meeting will be a little different than the workshop format we had last fall. My plan is to give a short introduction of a drawing or watercolor technique, then people can practice that technique while they make observations in our outside pollinator habitat. When the light becomes too dim, we will migrate back inside to finish our pages and share our observations.
The First Official Meeting of the
Cross Timbers Nature Journal Club
Monday September 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Oklahoma Biological Survey
111 Chesapeake St.
Norman, OK 73019
All materials provided, but you are welcome to bring your own notebook/journal and supplies. You might also consider bringing a small stool or sit pad for our observation time outside.
I hope to get a regular monthly meeting established, but would also like to host some meet ups at outdoor spaces occasionally. I am also looking into having an overnight retreat at OU’s Biological Field Station at Lake Texoma in December.
If you are interested in participating in the Cross Timbers Nature Journal Club, please fill out this quick form to let me know if you will be able to attend our first meeting and if you are interested in other activities.
Feel free to share with friends that you think would also be interested.
Looking forward to getting this going again!
