Priscilla H. C. Crawford

For my book tour finale, I am taking an ambitious journey – across the state, from high point to low point, on my bike. That is, from the tri-state marker, on the western edge of the Panhandle, down to the lowlands of McCurtain County on the border with Arkansas. I don’t intend to take the shortest route. I want to visit state parks and take the quieter backroads. I also intend to savor the miles, covering a moderate distance at a moderate pace each day. My goal is to travel slow enough to hear the meadowlarks and cicadas, smell the pine and sagebrush, and stop to admire the roadside flowers. The journey will begin on Monday October 12 – Indigenous Peoples’ Day. I have blocked out one month, which should give me ample time to cover my estimate of 1000 miles.

I am going to record the trip with photos, videos, and nature journal. Maybe this will turn into another writing project? But for now, I want to share snippets of my trip as I progress.
